I installed the GoMap module but when I try to configure it with IE I get 'operation aborted' and then page cannot be displayed...???

I tried with Firefox but then I don't see any users online or whatever. I read something about more info in the Data folder but that is empty.

It would be great if somebody can help me to get this going...

Bye

I finaly got it working. It had to do with some setting in my web.config and compression. Now I want to have a map with all registered users shown per country but there is information missing in the PA.

" Step 3: Data Source - Custom QueryYou have selected a custom SQL Query as the source for the points within this goMap instance. The structure of the goMap source is specific, and are detailed in the ReadMe located with the Data folder provided in the installation directory. Your query must provide values and appropriate names matching the required columns."

There is nothing in the Datafolder. Can somebody help me to setup that query so that I get the registered users per country show up on the map? I don't want the UsersOnline but all Registered Users.

What is the target of your query? Are you attempting to get a point per person, or a list of persons in each country?

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for your respons. I have 12.500 registered users and I want those users to show up on the map grouped by country. An example:

If I have 500 users from Canada I would that to show on the map.

Do you mean to show something like -
Canada - 500
or list each user? GoMap is provided with the CountriesOnline/UsersOnline sample which shows a point for each Country/Region and a number of users within that country is located on the message window of the data point.

I don't want to show the 'Online users' per country, I want to show all 'Registered users' per country.

The UsersOnline sample shows the same data that you are requesting. It is referred to as "UsersOnline" because it changes the icon of the country based on the status of the last registered user within that country (Users registered, Users Registered within the Last two days, Users registered Today, Most Recent user registered). The demonstrations on our website - specifically http://dnn.bi4ce.com/Default.aspx?tabid=264 shows the Users Online configuration - which can be played back, positional, or standard and summarizes the number of users per country. Take a look at it - it should be exactly what you are requesting.

I want it the way you have it on your site but I can't get it to work. It shows the current number of Users that are online, not the total number of registered members per country.

This really makes me feel 'stupid' that I cannot get this to work.

I too cannot get this to work. It installs without incident. However, when running through the wizard, all images are broken links (no images displayed). I have installed several previously release versions of this in succession hoping that the next version would fix the problem. Is it possible that one of those older editions may have bad settings that causes a newer version of this to also fail? If so, what's the best way to approach this?

There appears to be a problem on installation at times that the triggers which populate the Geo data are not fired . You can force the population of this data fairly easily by executing a script againsts your database which forces the trigger to fire:

UPDATE aspnet_profile set GeoLookup=NULL where isnull(GeoLookup,0) = 0

We are working on a new release of the Map module which will change the handling and performance of this function all together, so - it will be resolved in the upcoming release version.
